This item has been removed from the game.1st Platoon 2nd Platoon 1st Platoon 2nd Platoon Originally, the player could only command up to 6 bots when the Squad Leader Kit was introduced, but this limit was later removed. The use of Squad Leader Kit is also being called into question in more recent updates where most of its abilities can be used even without the item in inventory, leaving its only use as a rangefinder. The fact that bots tend to scatter shortly after a battle doesn't help either.
Recruiting a squad is an extremely tedious task as recruiting bots and keeping them alive is almost impossible while in direct combat. Squad Leader Kit cannot assist directly in combat, despite taking up an accessory slot. High-capacity vehicles such as the APC and Transport Helicopter also work well with it as multiple units can sneak up enemy capture points by surprise. They can provide fire support or storm capture points. Offering more freedom than the Battle Plan, Squad Leader Kit allows the user to manually control their own legion. If ordered to attack a capture point, they will use their usual AI routine in that case. If they are already in a vehicle, they will simply proceed on with the vehicle they are using instead, regardless if the player is in command of them or not. If they are tasked to any location on the map with the map menu or by pressing G again while aiming at a target location, the squad status will say "Moving". They will also instantly begin to follow the user if the "Regroup" option is chosen.
In this state, bots will follow the user and enter any vehicle they are currently in, and will not leave until the user does so. The default status of the Squad is "Following". The B hotkey enables the Squad Leader Kit's map menu, allowing the user to issue orders to allied soldiers. A counter in the bottom left corner indicates the amount of bots in the squad, or "No Squad" if there aren't any. The squad is disbanded instantly if the player or all allied bots are defeated. The Squad Leader Kit is an improved version of the Binocs, combining its ability for ranged sights with a map used for commanding allied bots in one's squad.īy aiming at an unassigned bot and pressing G, the bot will be recruited and follow the user's orders.
